Since Mike had never seen the Grand Canyon and I had only seen the south rim, we decided that this had to be on must-see list for our 2015 trip. We arrived in Arizona fairly early in the morning. We travelled through some very hot areas, stopped a few times when we seen something unique.
By the time we reached the official Grand Canyon National Park on highway 67 coming in from the north, we were ready to get out and stretch our legs and being that there were woods and trails everywhere, it seemed that the obvious choice would have to be an impromptu day hike. That’s what I love about our trips; no set plans!
I was really surprised by how much different the north side of the Grand Canyon is opposed to the south side. A forest on the north and a dessert on the south. I had no idea that the lodge, shops, etc. existed at the north rim! I would love to come back here and stay in one of the cabins. It was charming. We spent about 8-10 hours in Arizona.
